Ravenclaw Tests of Logic

Brilliant, said Hermione. This isn't magic - it's logic.

Puzzle Eleven - Lockhart's Big Mess

As you can expect, after the pixie incident, Professor Lockhart had a wee bit of difficulty holding the attention of his classes. Indeed, on the day after, he absolutely couldn't control any of his Hufflepuff fourth years. There were three acts of misbehavior happening simultaneously all over the room! In one part of the room, a student was setting off small explosions with a wand. In another part, two students were enchanting a copy of "Magical Me" to read "Magical Moron." And in yet a third part of the classroom, a student was levitating a piece chalk to write rude words on the blackboard behind Lockhart's back. One of these acts of misbehavior was happenning on the left side of the classroom, another on the right side, and the last in the middle, in between the other two.

What made things worse is that Lockhart couldn't yet remember all of the students' names! He knew the students involved were named Ludwig, Marcus, Nadia, and Omar, but he didn't know which was which. Can you help him sort out which students are participating in which misbehavior, and where in the classroom each act of misbehavior is located?

  1. Ludwig and the student setting off explosions, in one order or another, are on the left and right sides of the classroom.

  2. Marcus is to the immediate right of of the student levitating the chalk.

  3. Nadia is on the right hand side of the classroom.

You may use the following table to help you figure it out. When you've completed the puzzle, you may check your work - a link to the solution is at the bottom of the page.
